More Than a Guide With a GPX File
Anyone can download a route. The real value comes from knowing which roads are worth riding, where the traffic disappears, which cafés make the best stops and where the views suddenly open up.
I have lived in Portugal since 2006 and spent years exploring the country by bike. RideWithPete grew from a simple idea: visiting cyclists should be able to experience the roads I know and love without having to work everything out alone.

Why I Chose Portugal
Portugal has everything I want from cycling: quiet roads, changing landscapes, warm weather, friendly people and cafés that still feel local.
The Algarve may be best known for beaches, but beyond the busy coastal roads there is a completely different world of small villages, mountain climbs, empty valleys and roads that feel made for cycling.

I have ridden extensively across the Algarve and throughout Portugal, including repeated end-to-end journeys along the N2.
